Fofi Gennimata
Fofi Gennimata graduated from the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at EKPA. When at University of Athens, she was a member of the Socialist Student Union. In 1996, she became President of «George Genimmatas» foundation, which collected, managed and preserved the archives of her father, George Gennimatas. Elected as PASOK’s Member of Parliament in 2000, she has served as a Deputy Minister of Health and Welfare and Alternate Minister of Education, Lifelong Learning and Religious Affairs. From 2001 to 2004, she served as a member of PASOK’s Central Committee, while from 2003 to 2009 she was member of the Executive Bureau and the Political Council of PASOK. She was twice elected as the President of the Hyper -Prefecture of Athens and Piraeus. She was elected by party members as the 5th PASOK President in 2015. From that day she is making continuous efforts to unite all centre-left parties and movements within a political alliance: the Democratic Alignment.
