Panos Polyzoidis
Panos N. Polyzoidis studied Political Science at the University of Athens and obtained a MSc in Politics with Special Reference to the Middle East at the School of Oriental and African Studies - University of London. He read towards a PhD carrying out research in Politics (on the relationship between Turkish nationalism and Turkey's foreign policy). Later, he attended the BBC Business Management Course as well as BBC Broadcast Journalism Training. In Athens, he has worked as parliamentary, European Parliament and political correspondent, as well as press officer to Mr Kostis Stefanopoulos, later President of Greece. In London, he worked at the BBC World Service from 1989, as a journalist, radio and online producer. He also worked as London correspondent for Greek media (Antenna Television, Apogevmatini, Makedonia, Imerissia dailies and others); he was also co-publisher of the economic - business newsletter GreeceInfo. In Istanbul he worked as correspondent for the BBC Greek Service and Greek media. Back in Athens since 2000, he has worked as the BBC World Service's business representative in Greece and Cyprus and as BBC correspondent; he is a regular BBC commentator on Greek affairs. In 2004 he managed the launch of Athens International Radio 104.4, an Athens municipality FM station broadcasting in 16 languages. In 2006 he joined SKAI as Head of New Media; he was a member of the team that launched the Group's new television operation and led the development and launch of skai.gr, a pioneering project by Greek standards (first integrated multimedia news vortal, first online video advertising campaigns in the Greek market). Since 2008, he has worked as a current affairs radio presenter (City 99.5, Vima FM, Athina 984). He also spent two years as Managing Director at sport.gr and worked as online project adviser at Prime Media. He served as Senior Adviser on Foreign Media at the Secretariat General for Information and Communication. Currently, he is News and Current Affairs Adviser to the Management and commentator at SKAI Group. He speaks Greek, English, German and Turkish.
