Pavlos Yeroulanos
Pavlos Yeroulanos is the Chairman of the Board of Kefalonia Fisheries and a member of the Central Committee of the PanHellenic Socialist Movement. He is the former Minster of Culture and Tourism of Greece and he continues to participate in international organizations whose mission is to alleviate travel restrictions and facilitate tourism. He is actively involved in promoting the projects of the Benaki Museum outside of Greece and he is also a founding member and President of the Board of ClassAct (Ergotaxio), a nonprofit organization, whose mission is to build neighborhood support communities around Greek public schools.
Pavlos was born in Athens, Greece in 1966. He graduated from Williams College with highest honors and a degree in history in 1988. In 1994 he received a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Sloan School of Management at MIT.
From 1994 to 1998 he served as Chief Financial Officer of KEFALONIA Fisheries and oversaw the restructuring of the company. From 1999 through 2004 he served, successively, as Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and as Secretary General for Greeks Abroad.
From 2004 to 2006 he was a consultant for Egon Zehnder International. From 2006 to 2009 he was appointed Director of the Political Bureau of the President of PASOK and after that he became Secretary for Communications of the party, acting as campaign manager for the European election campaign and the National election campaign in 2009.
From October 2009 until May 2012 Pavlos Yeroulanos became a Member of Parliament with the ruling Pan-Hellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK) and joined the Cabinet of PM George Papandreou as the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Greece. His portfolio also included Sports and Public Television.
He speaks English fluently and some French. He is married to Lara Barazi-Yeroulanos with whom he has two daughters, Tatiana and Alexandra.
