Theodore E. Tryfon was born in Mytilini - Lesvos. He graduated from Athens College, Greece. He then studied in the UK, where he got a BSc and an MBA degree.

From 1990 to 1992 he worked in Henkel Hellas, Tryfon – Kastrinis S.A., a family owned business which was then bought by Henkel Germany.

In 1992 he joined Elpen Co. Inc. one of the leading Pharmaceutical Industries in Greece. The Elpen Group of Companies had a turnover of 190.000.000€ in 2016 with more than 950 employees in Greece and abroad and exports in more than 60 countries. Elpen has a subsidiary in Germany, Elpen GmbH, since 2014. Mr. Tryfon is Co/CEO of the Elpen Group and President of the Panhellenic Union of Pharmaceutical Industries (PEF). He is also a member of the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV).
