Sotiris Sirmakezis
Sotiris Sirmakezis is General Manager, Group Chief Digital & Technology Officer (Group CDTO) at Eurobank Group, reporting to the Deputy CEO. He heads the Group Digital Banking & Technology, supervising the Group IT General Division and the Group Digital Banking General Division. The latter includes Digital Banking Channels (e-banking, m-banking, e-services), Self-service Banking Channels (ATM, APS, Call Center), Digital Marketing, Customer Experience Management, Customer Analytics & Marketing Campaign Management, Innovation Center, Bank-wide Digital Transformation Program and Egg (enter•grow•go), the Bank’s startup incubator.
He is responsible for the strategic initiatives aiming to the effective use of technology and the adoption of digital technology, methodologies and policies across the spectrum of Group’s activities. Upgrading and strengthening of technology and responding to the challenges of the new "digital era", the Eurobank Group aims to become the most technologically advanced and innovative financial institution in southeastern Europe, which stands out for providing superior, personalized experience to all customers, an experience that will be provided through a set of innovative digital products and services which will contribute significantly to the Group's profitability.
Mr. Sotiris Sirmakezis is a member of the Executive Board of the Bank. He is also a member of the Hellenic Banking Association’s (HBA) Coordination Committee and HBA’s representative to the Payment Systems Committee of the European Banking Federation. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Institute of Customer Service.
He holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Crete. Previously, Mr. Sirmakezis worked for 15 years at Piraeus Bank Group, as General Manager of Retail Banking (2012-2015), Deputy General Manager of Electronic Business (2008-2012) and Electronic Banking Director.
