Dirk Reinermann
Dirk Reinermann is currently the Country Manager for Southern Europe of the World Bank Group.
Since WBG President Jim Kim’s decision in 2012 to respond positively to a TA request from Greece, Mr. Reinermann has built up and managed an advisory program in Southern Europe (Greece, Cyprus, Italy and Spain) as well as in selected Western European countries. As Manager for the EU Partnership team he previously led the creation and implementation of a partnership strategy between the Europe and Central Asia department of the WBG and the European Union, which has transformed the Bank’s partnership with EU institutions.
Mr. Reinermann joined the World Bank Group in 1996 as a Senior Advisor on the Executive Board and has since held various management positions on Nigeria, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in Southern Africa and in Brussels, Belgium. Mr. Reinermann holds a Diploma in Economics from Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg, Germany and worked previously for the German Federal Government as a trade economist and speech writer.
