Panayotis Tsakonas is Professor of International Relations and Security Studies at the University of the Aegean and President of the BoD of the Center for Security Studies (KE.ME.A).
He was NATO Research Fellow, post-doctoral Fellow at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University, Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Macmillan Center for International and Area Studies at Yale University and Academic Visitor at St Antony's College, Oxford University. He also served as Advisor at the Ministries of National Defense and Foreign Affairs and a board member of various academic and civic organizations.
He has published books, monographs and articles in peer-reviewed international scholarly journals on IR theory, regional security issues, foreign policy analysis, Greek foreign and security policy and Greek-Turkish relations. His book The Incomplete Breakthrough in Greek-Turkish Relations. Grasping Greece’s Socialization Strategy (Palgrave-Macmillan, New York, 2010) was nominated for the “Edmund Keeley Book Prize”.
